About

Hi! My name is Alyssa Janss, I am a local artist and I live here in the Phoenix valley with my husband, Alex, and my dog, Dax. My husband is the greatest gift I could ask for and is the main reason that I have gotten the chance to continue my journey and career as an artist. He’s my biggest fan and I definitely would not have the courage to step out and pursue art without him.

The journey of an artist takes a lifetime of learning and skill development. Basically, you sign up to be a lifelong learner of the craft and all of the different mediums therein. As my mission and goals change throughout my career, I want to consistently provide quality, moving pieces that will outlive my existence and communicate ideas and experiences that words will forever fail and fall short in.

Although charcoal drawing and still life oil painting will be a focus of mine for the foreseeable future, more of my long term goals include exploring the expression of human grief and grief’s balance with beauty. These two concepts are such integral, and often overlooked shapers of the human experience and I want to be a part of the conversation.
